INTER MIAMI KEEN TO SIGN PHIL NEVILLE

Inter Miami are keen to add a new manager and the club are looking at a former teammate of David Beckham, Phil Neville, who is available after leaving his job as the women’s national team boss back in July.

Neville and Beckham played with each other for Manchester United and England. During this time, they had developed a great deal of understanding that has resulted in Neville now being considered as a potential manager for Inter Miami, who are a club owned by David Beckham in the MLS.

A lot of parts have been taking place between the MLS outfit and Phil Neville, who also played for Everton for several years before deciding to call time on his career in 2013. Since then, he has been in charge of the Great Britain and England women’s team.

Diego Alonso has been in charge of Inter Miami since the start of the season. However, the manager is widely expected to leave the club after a disappointing campaign for Inter Miami, as they finished 10th in the standings. There are only 14 teams in the Eastern conference table. The comeback from the pandemic suspension was especially disappointing for Inter, who were able to pick up just seven wins from 23 matches last season.

It is clear that Inter Miami do not see a lot of belief in retaining Alonso and a move to get Phil Neville is a strong sign of the same. Despite having no club managerial career, Phil Neville will try to make a strong impression after having been an immensely successful player. Neville has played under many top managers like Alex Ferguson. As a player, he has won the Premier league on multiple occasions and the Champions League once. His time with the England women’s team led to theSheBelieves Cup in 2019.
