David Beckham knows a thing or two about what it takes and how the international scene in football works as the former player captained England for 6 years where he went off to make over 50 appearances as the captain of the national side.
The former Manchester United player has given his thoughts about Harry Kane.
Harry Kane is attracting the attention of everywhere all over the globe as the 21 year old forward is the top goal-scorer of Tottenham Hotspur after having scored 16 goals in 24 league appearances.
Even at his young age, Kane is already being viewed as the future of England. Raheem Sterling, Ross Barkley, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jack Wilshere, Luke Shaw, SaidoBerahino and Harry Kane are all of the young players in the England squad that are expected to push the English national side to international success in the future.
The last time that England managed to win the World Cup was back in 1966 but with this batch of talented young players, England is now being viewed as a real candidate on winning the World Cup in the upcoming years.
David Beckham has also been impressed by what Harry Kane has been accomplishing with Tottenham Hotspur and he believes that the 21 year old player deserves to be called up for the next 2016 Euro’s qualifying matches of England.
“Being English, and seeing someone like Harry and the way he’s playing and the way he’s played this season, he’s having a stunning year. I think everyone is singing his praises, and rightly so. He’s 21; he’s working hard and has got a good head on his shoulders, so we will see.It doesn’t matter what age you are, if you’re good enough then you should play,” David Beckham said.
England will be facing off with Lithuania in their next 2016 Euro’s qualifying match on March 27 and these types of matches is what a player like Harry Kane needs in order to start gaining experience at the international stage.
