Beckham Disappointed In Neymar Injury
David Beckham is very disappointed with the fact that the Brazilian superstar Neymar would not be able to take any further part in the ongoing FIFA World Cup due to injury.
Neymar suffered a nasty back injury in the dying stages of the quarter final match against Colombia.
After being given some medical help on the pitch, the striker was carried to the hospital for scans which disclosed that there was a fracture.
It would take Neymar about one month or so to get back to fitness which means that he would not feature in the last two knockout games for his country.
In his absence, it has become an uphill task for Brazilians now to reach the title on their home soil.
Beckham wrote sympathetic lines for Neymar on a social networking site yesterday. The first post of the former England captain read, “Gutted to know that Neymar Junior would not be seen in action any more this World Cup.”
Beckham’s another post was like this, “With the weight of expectations that was on his (Neymar’s) shoulders, he was going fantastically well in the tournament. Pity that such a thing happened to him. I wish him all the luck and hope for him to make a comeback very soon.”
Meanwhile, there were rumours in the Brazilian press yesterday that Neymar might recover miraculously fast and make an appearance in the final match of the tournament if Brazil gets there.
But, the doctor who treated Neymar in Sao Paulo hospital has rubbished those rumours and has made it clear that there is not even 1% chance of the Barcelona player getting match fit by the 13th of this month.
Neymar had already scored 4 goals in the World Cup and was in line to win the Golden Boot Award.
