David Beckham Crowned with the PFA Merit Award

David Beckham has been crowned with the prestigious PFA Merit award, which has been won by the likes of Ryan Giggs in the past.

Regarded as one of the greatest footballers in his time, Beckham has played for top clubs in the world like Real Madrid, Manchester United, and AC Milan. He recently ended his career while playing for Paris St Germain and LA Galaxy. Now, the star has been looking to enter into football ownership rather than management. After having served as an inspiration to several million players around the world, Beckham has also been a key figure in the England national team.

The star ended his playing career after having won the likes of the Champions League, Premier League, and the Spanish La Liga. There are also numerous FA Cup medals along the way. Recognising his contribution to the English game, he has been given the PFA Merit award. Ryan Giggs won the award back in 2016.

After receiving the title, Beckham thanked his family members and the PFA for being crowned with this award. This is one of the several accolades in his career. Over the years, he has also managed several PFA awards including the PFA Young Player of the Year award back in 1997. He also finished his England career with a whopping 115 caps.

“Truly honoured to receive the PFA Tribute Award. I've been lucky to win trophies and play in some incredible teams but it's special to get an Award from your fellow players. I wouldn't have fulfilled my dreams if it wasn't for my family so it's always nice when they can share an Award as well,” said Beckham on his Instagram account. The 41-year-old is yet to announce its next major step in football ownership after having actively begun plans to start a new MLS franchise.
